5 Things That Helped Me Earn More Money!

5 Things That Helped Me Earn More Money!

Earning more money in your current job is easier than you think. You don't have to go back to school if you don't want to. You don't have to get a second job if that's not in the cards for you. What you can do is decide that you have more to offer and you want to be compensated accordingly. That's it. Now there are steps to take and progressions to make, but I want you to know at the most basic level, it's simply a matter of deciding.

Here are the 5 things that can get you paid more in your current organization:

  1. Confidence. You have to show up like you belong and that you're worthy. A lot of the times we accept less than we can actually earn because we haven't developed the confidence to receive more. I am not talking “fake it till you make confidence.” And there is a time and place for that kind of sugar coated confidence. I am talking soul anchored certainty. Knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are worthy of more. The confidence that you will need to cultivate is the kind of confidence that makes you show up even when you don’t feel like it. You have to develop an unshakable resolve to know who your are, what you want and make no apologies for it.

  2. Get clear about what you want. You have to know what you want and you have to be specific. You can't say you just “want more.” Finding an extra $1 in your purse is having more.  You have to get crystal clear on how much you want to earn and how you plan on earning it. This is no time for muddy waters. You need to be as clear as the Caribbean blue ocean. Knowing exactly what you want keeps you on course. So decide now, what do you want to earn. I know that can be scary and intimidating to finally decide on a #, but do it. Take a deep breath, close your eyes and answer the question. How much money do you want to earn? Write it down, read it, say it with a smile.

  3. The courage to ask. Once you know you deserve increased compensation and you are clear about how much, you have to have the courage to ask. This is where that fake it till you make it confidence comes in. See you only need a few minutes of courage to book the meeting, make the phone call, or make the ask. Of course you need to have all your stuff together beforehand and be ready to explain why you are qualified for the increase you are asking for. Closed mouths will not be fed. If you can't ask for it, you won't get it. Period.

  4. Serving boldly. Money is energy. And to receive it, it is simply an exchange of energy. I like to say that money is earned by services rendered or products delivered. So if you are making a request for $10K or $20K increase (which is possible by the way) you have to be ready to serve and give in a major way. Relinquish the idea that you can get something for nothing. You can’t. Ask yourself, how can you serve in your organization at this new level of compensation? Get creative, step up and be ready to work.

  5. Become a new you. When your income rises, you rise, and the world rises to meet you. The woman you are right now is not the women you'll be at your next level. Find out who she is and how she is and become her. What does she say? How does she think? What does she wear? Where does she go? This is about energy. It's about becoming an energetic match or vibrational match for your next level. What got you here won't get you there so you have to rise. You will have to become a better version of who you are. Understand there is nothing wrong with you right now. You’re growing, expanding, and becoming better.
